Updates:

Heather is juggling research, teaching, grant writing, and kicking butt (taekwondo). She hopes to come up for air briefly sometime in May.

Derek has been taking awesome pictures with his new camera. He's also looking into working at an animal shelter. Heather fears their family size will suddenly balloon when his heart, which is bigger than their apartment, is overcome by all the kittens and puppies.

The most exciting event of the holidays was Christmas morning, when Heather unwrapped the following from Derek:

Yesterday, Derek finished his final final for the semester, and Heather successfully passed her GBO (quals)! We're celebrating.
